Once upon a time, the princess Scheherazade was prisoner of a king. In order to save her life every night she told him a story. Today, Scheherazade has changed her name and her stories are related to her English teacher. Every week, the princess writes a little story which talks about her English lesson. In order to understand reasons of this blog, we give to you our interview with the princess:

VS

Mr Curious: Hi everybody! It’s your duteous reporter and today I am interviewing Scheherazade to know why she began this blog. So Scheherazade, my first question is obviously WHY?

Scheherazade: Hello and thank for your interest to my blog. The origin of this blog is an English homework. In fact, when I was at University, I took English lessons and the final mark was divided in two: a study of text or article, and a course log. Instead of writing a course log like a book, my teacher proposed another format: a blog.

Mr Curious: Thank, and what’s a course log?

Scheherazade: If you look at the University web site (e-lang) at course log, you will admit that I can compare it to a diary. In a diary we write what we did or understood, discovered every day, in a course log for every lesson we write what we have understood, and learned like new words. Of course, this blog isn’t limited to the lesson contents so we can write some personal information as long as posts are in English.

Mr Curious: I’m very curious, like my name, your homonym is world-famous by her stories and I would like to know what sorts of stories you are going to tell us.

Scheherazade: Oh, like the princess I have some stories in my mind and they are a new version of The seventh voyage of Sinbad. In addition to the course log, we had to do some exercises on computers, so Sinbad doesn’t explore the sea but different countries like: Writing, Reading, and Vocabulary and shares his experiment with us.

Mr Curious: Oh oh, it seems interesting, but if you had to choose the most important thing during all this travel, what would you choose?

Scheherazade: I think, travel enables me to discover new cultures, languages, so I would choose all new words. Moreover, they are inside the Aladdin’s cave, like the 40 robbers hide their treasures in the cave hoping that they use them someday; all this words will be used when I need them.

Mr Curious: Oh I see, at the bottom of the page, a Matisse’s tableau, it’s “mille et une nuits”, isn’t?

Scheherazade: You are an expert; I didn’t write a blog using stories of One Thousand and One Nights, without naming one page One Thousand and One Nights. Of course, this page describes what I did during my English Lessons.

What a creative way of starting off your blog!!! I was caught by the story and wanted to follow the narration to see what happened at the end. Well, then, I wish you lots of success in your Englisg learning trip.
